KAIST Catalyst Cuts V3.5+ Vanadium Electrolyte Production Time by 67%
KAIST researchers reported in Advanced Energy Materials a 67% reduction in production time for V3.5+ mixed-valence vanadium electrolyte by switching from chemical to catalytic reduction at an average oxidation state of about +4.1. The Pt/C catalyst was reused more than 2,500 times and the process also removes residual oxalic acid.
